WELLNESS WITHOUT WALLS
At our community owned woodland, we specialise in offering unique wellness experiences based in nature. Our highly trained wellbeing professionals are experienced in supporting wellbeing throughout Natures seasons. Nature connection is at the heart of our wellbeing opportunities which incorporate the University of Derby's "Five Pathways to Nature". We use the whole of our woodland and take every opportunity to hold sessions outdoors.
We are here to help you design your own bespoke events for social groups and corporate teams and to provide wellness experiences for Festivals and events. We offer workshops, courses, classes and professional services to meet your wellbeing needs.
Whistlewood is an off-grid location. Whistlewood's welcoming and comforting facilities include a beautiful Strawbale Roundhouse, Shelter, Yurt and Composting toilets. We cook and heat using wood-fired stoves, barbecue, campfire and handmade pizza oven. The food we serve is freshly prepared from local ingredients and chosen to reflect the particular event we are delivering.
We can easily cater for special dietary needs
We offer wellbeing services at other Woodland locations.

Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) is a wellness practice where we spend time in nature to gain a greater sense of wellbeing. Our trained Forest Bathing guides will support you to experience a very, slow gentle walk where mindfulness activities (invitations) are offered. Our guides have trained with Nadur - Centre for Integrative Forest Therapy and are part of local, National and International Eco Wellness networks.
Forest Bathing walks at Whistlewood are built on the University of Derby’s “Five Pathways to Nature”, a research-based approach which benefits the health of people and improves empathy for our Planet. We offer five walks each Season to help you build strong roots in your Nature connection practice following the pathways of:
Support is offered through our social media communities as you build your practice.
Forest Therapy is offered by Forest Bathing guides who have extended their training to offer further opportunities to “go deeper” with wellbeing in Nature. Forest Therapy invitations offer more time and comfort using creative and gentle approaches such as expressive arts.
We offer individual support sessions and workshops which may support individual physical and mental health needs. Forest therapy sessions can provide greater flexibility for people whose mobility or individual needs may not be met by a Forest Bathing walk. Our accessible toilets and facilities support wheelchair access and we aim to support individual needs.
