About the Event
This Movement in Nature Day will offer an opportunity to explore a variety of ways that we can connect with our natural environment. It is designed to be a fun and inspiring day.
In the morning you will spend time with Sara Rose, our Dance and Movement Practitioner.
You will explore your relationship with the natural world and consider how nature can support us as we move forward from the Covid 19 pandemic. Whistlewood is a perfect example of the resilience of the natural world and is the perfect place to explore human connection with nature through movement.
No experience is needed, Sara believes that any movement is dance.

After a short break you will spend time with Phil Rose, our Natural Movement and Barefoot Running Professional.
You probably stopped playing and practicing natural physical skills sometime in your childhood – you crawled, stood, walked, ran, and jumped… then boom, it stopped suddenly, being replaced with lots of sitting all the way into adulthood. And maybe you would like to reignite and practice those skills and find more ease and enjoyment in movement? That is exactly what this session is about, join Phil in reconnecting to natural movement and exploring what your body can do.
Suitable for all levels of fitness. There is an option to be barefoot to further experience the natural surroundings.

After lunch, you will join Anne and Helen for a session of Forest Bathing and Forest Therapies.
After a slow, mindful Forest Bathing walk through our Woodland designed to connect you to nature through sensory invitations you will participate in our Forest Therapies session. In this session we will offer creative, supportive and sensory opportunities to respond as part of Nature using materials that you find around you.
